EGYPTIAN
SOCIETY OF CARDIOLOGY
THE
EGYPTIAN WORKING GROUP
FOR CARDIOVASCULAR DRUG THERAPY
The working
group whose primary interest is to promote and advance the
science of human pharmacology and therapeutics in the field of
Cardiology.
As a
learned working group, our primary concerns are better
understanding and use of existing drug therapies, and developing
better and safer treatments for the future.
Our
memberships' unique combination of scientific and clinical
expertise makes them especially qualified to understand the
impact of disease on patients, the compelling need for effective
drug therapy and the efforts necessary to meet those needs.
Such
efforts include research, exchange of scientific information,
consideration of legislation and regulations that affect drug
development and utilization, and education.
Scientific
Presentations in meetings should relate to mechanisms of action,
drug metabolism, drug safety and efficacy, pharmacodynamics,
pharmacokinetics, study methodology, education, and other
aspects of clinical pharmacology.
MISSION
The working
group for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics advances the
discipline and practice of clinical pharmacology for the benefit
of patients and the working group.
VISION
The working
group fosters the recognition of clinical pharmacology as a
discipline at the forefront of the discovery, development,
regulation and use of safe and effective medicines.
CORE
PRINCIPLES
Our
uniqueness lies in our service and expertise along the continuum
of clinical pharmacology that is necessary for the discovery,
development, regulation and utilization of safe and effective
drugs.
We strive
to be leaders in basic, translational and clinical
pharmacological research because we believe that the quality and
integrity of such research is essential.
We strive
to ensure that cardiologists value clinical pharmacology as a
focused, integrated and essential discipline for quality patient
care.
We believe
cardiologists must be trained in the principles and practices of
clinical pharmacology in order to provide safe and effective
therapeutics and quality patient care.
We support
diversity and the exchange of scientific information within the
discipline of cardiology and clinical pharmacology and among
related disciplines, recognizing the complementary and unique
contributions made by the different healthcare professions
within medical science.

The working group exists to advance human health
and quality of life by helping cardiologists to expand the
frontiers of their practice and research. The working group will
pursue its core purpose by:
- Providing leadership, education, advocacy, and other resources
that enable
pharmacists to
achieve excellence in clinical practice and research:
-
advancing
pharmacotherapy through support and promotion of research, training, and
educational programs; and
-
disseminating
peer-reviewed, innovative scientific and professional information and knowledge
that catalyze change and advance drug therapy.
